In this video, our resident gymnastics expert Cris Mironescu will explain ‘How to Do a SPLIT LEAP – Step by Step Tutorial’. The split leap is one which can be incorporated into various styles of movement, whether gymnastics, acrobatics, dance or others. In ballet it is known as the grand jeté. Cris shows us what we need to do to perfect this movement, showing us how to stretch and limber up to get our body in the position where the split leap is as natural as any other jump. The split leap is, essentially, the splits in the air, so we need to ensure we can get this movement as smooth as possible before we make the leap.
