Mounting and dismounting a cyclo-cross bike is a skill that needs practise, and one that takes time to learn but offers a huge advantage when it comes to conserving speed in a CX race. Everyone has their own personal preferences and techniques for getting off and on the bike, here Jeremy share his recipe for success.

CX is all about conserving momentum, and this includes when you have to dismount for obstacles such as barriers. Practising a smooth dismount, carry and remount will help give you a technical advantage over your fellow racers, which will add up over the course of an hour long race.
